The D12 is the visa for a scouting trip: market research, sites, and partners before you form a company. It is not permission to hire, invoice, or run the business. You apply from outside Indonesia.
Apply for the D12 before you book the flights around a file that is not ready.
Fees
1-year visa
- Regular: IDR 12,500,000
- Extra fast: IDR 15,000,000
2-year visa
- Regular: IDR 16,000,000
- Extra fast: IDR 21,000,000
Fees follow immigration rules and can change. The visa can allow up to 180 days per visit. It does not authorise employment.
Documents to have before you apply
- Passport with at least 6 months of validity at entry
- A recent colour photograph
- A personal bank statement from the last 3 months, in your name, with a balance of at least USD 5,000
- A CV
- A signed statement of commitment
- A birth certificate if a child under 18 is included
You must be outside Indonesia when the application is made. Extra documents often depend on the business you are looking at.
Who it is for
- Investors checking the Indonesian market
- People doing due diligence on a site or a partner
- Directors who expect to form a PT PMA, but not on this trip
- Anyone assessing a deal before they commit capital
After the trip
If you decide to operate, hire, or invoice, the next product is a PT PMA. Setup is IDR 30,000,000, or IDR 45,000,000 with one Investor KITAS. Do not stretch a D12 into a trading company.
If you are only visiting for meetings and will keep leaving every few weeks, a D2 multiple-entry visa can fit better than a scouting visa. Say so when you write to us.
Rules for pre-investment stays are on imigrasi.go.id. When the statement and the passport are ready, file the D12.
