Remote workers ask us the same question before they pay for an E33G: will immigration accept the income proof? Most delays are in the documents, not in the form.
The Digital Nomad Visa E33G is for people who live in Indonesia and work for a company or clients outside Indonesia. It is not a tourist visa, and it is not a Working KITAS for an Indonesian employer.
The income bar
On the files we submit, immigration looks for:
- Proof of at least USD 60,000 a year from overseas work, commonly shown as about USD 5,000 a month
- A personal bank statement with at least USD 2,000 across the last three months, in your name
- An active contract with a company established outside Indonesia
- A passport with at least six months of validity (twelve to eighteen months is safer)
- A recent colour passport photo, a CV, a travel plan, an address in Indonesia, and health insurance that covers the stay
Freelancers are judged on that foreign contract and the income bar. Clients in Indonesia do not qualify.
What usually gets a file rejected
These are the mismatches we send back before filing:
- The bank statement name does not match the passport
- The statement is older than three months, or it does not show the balance
- The contract is with an Indonesian company, or it does not show ongoing work
- Income is described as cash, crypto with no trail, or a one-off transfer that never reaches USD 60,000 a year
- The applicant wants to invoice Indonesian clients. That is a company matter, not an E33G
If the work will be for Indonesian clients, hire local staff, or run a villa, cafe, or studio, stop the E33G and set up a PT PMA instead.
Timeline and what we charge
Once the documents are complete, we typically file within 14 working days. Immigration volume can add time.
- Apply from abroad: IDR 15,000,000, valid one year
- Apply while you are in Indonesia: IDR 21,000,000, valid one year
The permit is issued for one year. Most people exit and reapply for the next year rather than extending it like a tourist visa. Plan that exit before the permit ends.
