Founders who fly in for meetings, then fly out, often keep using a tourist visa because it feels simpler. It is the wrong visa once the trips are the business. Meetings and negotiations belong on a D1 or D2 multiple-entry visa. You apply from outside Indonesia.
Apply for a D2 multiple-entry visa.
What you actually get
- 1-year or 2-year validity. The 2-year option is the D2.
- Unlimited entries during that validity
- Up to 60 days per entry
- Two optional extensions of 60 days each, so one stay can run toward 180 days. After that you leave and can come back on the same visa
- A later conversion to a KITAS is sometimes possible without leaving. Not every switch works in-country
This is for official duties, business meetings, and negotiations. It is not a job with an Indonesian company, and it is not a licence to invoice local clients.
What we charge
1-year
- Minimal package: IDR 5,000,000, about 7–10 business days
- Regular package: IDR 6,500,000, about 3–5 business days
2-year
- Minimal package: IDR 9,000,000, about 7–10 business days
- Regular package: IDR 11,000,000, about 3–5 business days
Each package includes sponsorship, the e-visa, and document preparation. You need a passport photo with at least 18 months of validity and blank pages, plus a recent personal photo.
When to stop and open a company
Keep the D2 if you are visiting. Move to a PT PMA when you will hire, sign contracts, or invoice in Indonesia. Setup starts at IDR 30,000,000. A shareholder who needs to live here adds an Investor KITAS.
A one-off look at land or a partner, with no repeated meetings yet, is a D12 scouting visa instead. Say which of those you are doing. We will not file a D2 for a company that should already exist.
Business-visit rules are on imigrasi.go.id. If the trips are already happening, file the D2 before the next tourist entry.
