The buyer of a Working KITAS is the Indonesian employer, not the person who wants the job. If your company will pay someone to work in Bali, this is the permit. A tourist visa or an E33G does not cover that job.
Sponsor the Working KITAS. Our regular service is IDR 15,000,000, typically within 14 working days once the file is complete.
What the permit allows
The employee can:
- Work for and be paid by the registered Indonesian company
- Choose a stay of 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years
- Bring eligible family members, subject to their own requirements
- Travel inside Indonesia while the permit is valid
They cannot keep working after it expires, and they cannot do a job outside the role on the application.
What the file needs
- A passport valid at least 18 months
- A recent colour photo
- A personal bank statement with at least USD 2,000, covering the last three months, in the applicant’s name
- Indonesian company formation documents for the sponsor
After it is issued, the employee must enter Indonesia within 90 days or the visa can lapse.
Someone already inside Indonesia may have a single-entry or multiple-entry e-visa option, depending on how often they will leave.
If the sponsor company does not exist yet
A foreigner cannot sponsor themselves on a tourist visa and then “start paying staff.” The employer has to be a real Indonesian company. If you still need to create that company, set up a PT PMA first. Company setup without a KITAS is IDR 30,000,000. Adding an Investor KITAS for a shareholder is a different package from this employment permit.
What this is not
- Remote work for a foreign employer is the E33G, not a Working KITAS
- An unpaid organised placement is a volunteer or internship visa, not employment
- The employee should not start the paid role until the Working KITAS is granted
Check the current employment rules on imigrasi.go.id. When the company documents and the passport are ready, file the Working KITAS.
