If your current stay ends before the next visa is approved, you are about to overstay. Indonesia charges daily overstay fines. A last-minute flight is the expensive way to avoid them. The in-country option, when the next application is already moving, is a bridging visa.

When it is the right product
Use it when:
- A KITAS is in process and the current visa ends first
- You are switching visa categories and the new file is not approved yet
- You are already in Bali and leaving the country only to dodge a fine would interrupt that application
It is usually about 30 days. That is a buffer, not a new long stay. You normally do not apply for it on its own. We add it as part of the next visa so there is no gap.
What it does not do
A bridging visa does not let you work. If the next permit is a Working KITAS, paid work waits until that permit is granted.
It is also the wrong product if all you need is another month on a Visa on Arrival. That is an extension, not a bridge. Extend the Visa on Arrival instead. Extension service starts at IDR 1,300,000. Do it before the first 30 days end.
What to do this week
- Check the expiry date on the stamp or e-visa, not the day you hope to fly.
- Tell us which visa is already in process, and the date the current stay ends.
- If the next visa is only “I might apply,” you do not have a bridge yet. You have an expiring stay. File the real visa or leave.
Overstay rules are published through imigrasi.go.id. If the new visa is already underway, start the bridging visa before the current one ends.
